On Wednesday 10th February, the Grade 10 & 11 students took part in the Marymount Careers Conference in the sports hall. The aim of the afternoon was to introduce students to a wide variety of careers and enable them to interact with representatives from the various industries to ask questions and generally expand their knowledge of careers that may be available to them.
During the first part of the afternoon, students heard from 15 guest speakers who shared their career pathways, knowledge and information about their chosen fields with the students. All speakers provided the students (and staff!) with great insight into many interesting and varied careers. Students were then able to speak with our guests to ask questions and generally increase their knowledge and understanding of different career options.
Our guests work in various industries including: Business, Economics, Senior Company Management, Banking, Law, Medicine, Engineering, Sports Physiotherapy, Acting, Aviation, Architecture, Event Management, Fashion, Graphic Design and Staff Development.
