Marymount International School London - Student Life
Marymount International School - London

Activities

Not only is London a great commercial and entertainment capital at the doorstep of our campus, but also an unrivalled cultural and educational resource-centre, of which Marymount students take full advantage.

Field-trips to galleries, theatres, concerts, museums, and civic institutions form an integral component of many academic courses and outings to places of historical interest are a regular feature of school life.

Students also benefit from visitors to the school, with recent events including African drumming and dancing lessons, theatre clowning workshops, economics lectures, and Medieval history reenactments.

Beyond the capital, the Science programme always includes study trips as part of the IB Diploma and Middle Years Programme syllabi; past trips have included a Marine Biology course in Wales, an Ecology weekend at Flatford Mill, and a Physics field study course at Alton Towers in Staffordshire.

Visits to Stratford-upon-Avon allow students to see Shakespeare plays they are studying, as well as visiting the Bard’s birthplace, and other recent destinations for literary excursions include Bath and Haworth, famous for their associations with Jane Austen and the Brontës.

In addition, our Middle School students travel to Osmington Bay at the beginning of each academic year to take part in a leadership and community building Outdoor Adventure Trip.

On the music front, in addition to attending concerts, our students have taken an active part in the cultural life of London: Middle School students have recently performed in the Young Voices concert at the O2 Arena and the Royal Festival Hall, and older students have performed lunch time concerts at All Saints Kingston Parish Church.  Further away, the School Choir went on a performance tour to Rome, Italy, in 2009, and to Vienna, Austria, in 2010.

International Activities

As a truly international school, Marymount provides opportunities for its students to meet, compete, and share ideas with other students around the world.
