Community and Service
Marymount London’s campus is marked by a living sense of community, not only among the diverse cultures represented in the student body, but also through strong social service involvement in the local area. The student leadership groups co-ordinate student-initiated fundraising activities (at each grade level) to help those around both locally as well as around the globe struggling against poverty, homelessness or disability.

Service is part of every student's life at Marymount. It is required as part of Community and Service (one of the five linking ‘Areas of Interaction’ that integrate the IB Middle Years Programme), and is a key component of the CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) Programme, mandatory for all IB Diploma candidates.
But, beyond any course requirements, there is a strong tradition at Marymount of engaging in social service for its own sake, on a voluntary basis. |

Recent community service activities have included: sandwich making for the homeless in London, visits to local residential homes for the elderly to give concerts, sorting and packaging Christmas gifts for distribution for local families, and helping clean up the River Thames with environmental groups.
Participation develops personal responsibility, communal awareness, individual initiative, leadership, and a practical caring outlook: vital qualities needed to prepare students to face the complex human, as well as technological, challenges of the new millennium.
