The theme for this festival was Wild Wonder. Students explored ideas of beauty; examining the savage, wild, untamed beauty of nature, in contrast to environments that have been created and manicured by humans. The festival took place in Vienna, Austria.
The cultural visits included: Kunst Haus Wien, Hundertwasserhaus, Botanischer Garten, Belvereder Garten and Baumgasse meadow.
Students lucky enough to participate in this ISTA festival devised new theatre in ensembles with peers from different schools. It culminated in a festival performance at the end of the three days. The focus of the festival is always on collaboration and follows a non-competitive ensemble approach.
Such festivals provide young people with the opportunity to collaborate with peers from different countries, exchange ideas and cultural perspectives, and develop new theatre skills. They act as a medium for cultural exchange and dialogue.
