On Saturday, 1st June 2019, the Class of 2019 graduated from Marymount London.
The weather was very much on our side as 37 students processed into the Auditorium to receive their diplomas, celebrate their Marymount journey and look to their future as strong-willed, generous and bright, young women. Our guest speaker, Her Excellency, Ms. Nomatemba Tambo, spoke passionately about the future of the world depending on global citizenship, which our girls have embodied every day since they began their Marymount career.
As is Marymount tradition, the garden Reception followed the Ceremony, where the community were entertained by African drummers and dancers, kindly gifted to the School by one of our Grade 12 families.
The celebrations continued into the evening at the Graduation Ball in Aldwych, London, as the Class of 2019 gathered with their families and teachers for one final time. The entire weekend was spirited, joyful and humbling. We hope you agree that the official photographs by professional photographer Siobhan Hennessey portrays just that.
As our Headmistress closed the Graduation Ceremony, she quoted the late, great poet, Mary Oliver, and asked the students, “What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Here’s to the Class of 2019!
