It may have been pouring with rain, but the Summer Arts Festival was in full bloom across the campus last Wednesday.
Students from Grades 6 to 11 displayed a varied selection of artwork from the 2018/2019 Academic Year, using different mediums from Fine Art to Sculpture. Please see a selection of pieces below.
Grade 6 opened the performance section of the evening with an impressive Gamelan performance (the traditional ensemble music of Java and Bali in Indonesia), and each Grade followed with dance ensemble performances to the music of Flash Dance, Little Shop of Horrors and Guys and Dolls, to name a few. Solo dances to the music of Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky and music performances from the Chamber Choir, School Choir and individual students truly portrayed the range of disciplines covered in the Performing Arts syllabus at Marymount.
Thanks must go to Mr Robertson, Ms McMahon, Ms Szymczak, Ms Denton and Ms Stockall for their expert curation, and the Marymount community for the impressive turn-out!
