International Schools Sports Association Tournament Weekend
Varsity Soccer won 2nd place out of ten teams at the ISSA Soccer Tournament in Portugal this weekend. They went undefeated in the first five games, beating Barcelona, Southbank International School, Aberdeen, International School London, and Turkey. The team lost in a hard fought and heart-breaking final in extra time to Germany. We cannot put into words how proud we are of the girls; the entire stadium was cheering for Marymount in the final.
The ISAA Cross Country meet this weekend was the first time Marymount had ever competed in this organisation. Six Marymount girls competed against teams from Cairo, Tel Aviv, Basel, The Hague, and London. One student came second in the junior division with a 5km time of 23.19, and four students competed in the varsity division and won fourth place overall in the team rankings. Another Marymount student placed fourth overall in the girls varsity division with a 5km time of 21.40.
A big congratulations for all of the girls’ hard work and we wish the Varsity Volleyball team good luck as they travel to Aberdeen tomorrow to compete in the ISSA Volleyball Tournament.
