Last week, the Marymount Aces Varsity Basketball team participated in the annual International Schools Sports Association (ISSA) tournament, consisting of seven teams of schools from London, Aberdeen and Turkey.
On the first day Marymount played Southbank International School, the International School of Aberdeen and ACS Egham, beating each team successfully. After hard work and resilience, the Marymount Aces ended the day with a team dinner back at the school, discussing favorite moments of the day, as well as high hopes for the the remainder of the tournament.
On the second day, Marymount played against the Lycée Français, the International School of London and Bilkent Laboratory and International School, again, beating every team and successfully securing a place in the finals.
On the last day of the tournament, the Marymount Aces played the final against the International School of Aberdeen, where they won by 45-18 to be titled champions!
This tournament allowed the team to make amazing memories together including dancing in the changing rooms, singing in the bus rides to and from the venue as well as chanting ‘Hot to Go’ before every game. This was an unforgettable tournament for all and I strongly encourage girls to join extracurricular sports for future incredible student experiences.
