Last week, Marymount London hosted Phyllis Fagell, author of Middle School Matters, for a series of talks with members of our community.
Phyllis Fagell is a school counsellor and licensed professional clinician who regularly provides parenting advice for the Washington Post. She shared with the parents and faculty our own girls’ hopes and suggestions about how to support them and give them freedom at the same time. Her talks and time with the girls is just one more way we can celebrate the gifts and potential of each Marymount girl and continue to help them grow and take good risks.
Navigating adolescence is no easy task; if we let them take the lead and offer kind and respectful support, they are sure to be more confident in being “their best self” and creating a culture of compassion and positivity around them. Yes, Middle School Matters, and let’s believe in the creative, articulate, competent girls who comprise ours!
