I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Margaret Giblin as the new Head of Marymount International School, London effective January 2021.
Mrs Giblin is the current Deputy Head People at Woldingham Catholic School for Girls, where she has been working since 2012 in various roles. Mrs Giblin has 23 years of experience in education both in the UK and Ireland. She holds an MA in Catholic School Leadership from St Mary’s University and obtained her Higher Diploma in Teaching and a BA in Theology and English at the National University of Ireland and St Patrick’s Pontifical University, respectively. Mrs Giblin is married and has two teenage children.
The Board of Governors is confident that with Mrs Margaret Giblin’s experience and skills, we are welcoming a great leader for our school community. We look forward to her building on the legacy of the RSHM sisters and previous heads of school to guide Marymount London through these challenging times and into the future.
Mrs Giblin says: “I am truly delighted to be taking on the role of Head of Marymount International School. It will be a huge privilege to join this wonderful community and to ensure its continued success in providing a first-rate holistic education for each and every student. I am very much looking forward to getting to know the girls, staff, parents, alumnae and Governors and forging strong relationships that facilitate the school’s motto ‘That all may have life’. Without doubt, we are in uncertain times due to the global pandemic but I am confident given the strong ethos and community that Marymount International School enjoys, we will reconnect and together look forward to an exciting future”.
Until her arrival in January 2021, our school community will be led by Mr Nick Marcou, our current Deputy Head. Mr Marcou brings to this interim period strong leadership, energy and commitment to Marymount London. He joined Marymount in 1995 holding various roles and has been a member of the senior leadership team for over 10 years. He has been MYP coordinator and IB coordinator. Mr Marcou is an inspiring educationalist and a wonderful leader and fully committed to Marymount’s ethos and mission, the best person to hold our school in readiness for this next period of growth and development.
In the meantime, Mrs Meg Frazier and the Board of Governors will work with Mr Marcou and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. We will also be working with Mrs Giblin and involve her wherever possible, in agreement with her current employer.
Please join me in welcoming Mrs Margaret Giblin to the special community that is Marymount London.
Mrs. Cristina Serrano
