Grade 6 had the pleasure of meeting with Sister Mary Jo Martin (RSHM) on Wednesday. Sister Mary Jo is a Marymount London Governor and a regular visitor to campus.
Sister Mary Jo’s Q&A complemented the students’ research on the RSHM in Religious Studies this year. Grade 6 enjoyed listening to Sister Mary Jo’s stories about what inspired her to embark on her religious vocation, the significance of her vows and her very honest account of the joys and challenges of living in community. The students listened intently, asking her interesting questions about how often she prays, what the religious sisters must wear, and what it was like when she first joined the religious community.
At the end of the session, Sister Mary Jo was able to congratulate the winners of a competition from the Grade 6 Religious Studies class. The Grade were asked to design a logo that represented one of the School Goals. We were delighted to award a bag of goodies to the winner, Esme, along with runners-up Oona and Maggie, who also produced some wonderful pieces of work.
