Our Grade 6 Interdisciplinary Day was amazing! Our teachers put a lot of thought into our activities so we could do them all remotely, yet still have fun.
We started the day at 9am with Ms. Dos-Santos and her photography challenge! We learned that photos don’t always have to be a masterpiece, but can be captured moments in time that are silly and very amusing!
After a break, we had a Zoom meeting with Naomi, the kids’ coach. It was great as she really understood us and spoke to us on our level about issues, we can all relate to. I’m sure everyone found it very helpful – I know I did.
Following our extended lunch break, we joined Mr Alexander-Bridger, and both class’s Social Studies teachers to watch the movie Horrible Histories, Rotten Romans! The movie had plenty of gory scenes, comedic scripts and some funny singing!
Our last activity of the day was making our very own Roman shield. We were encouraged to design our shields with Roman icons and symbols that mean things to us.
On reflection, this day was a much needed, fun and relaxing break! I’d like to say thank you to all the teachers for organising this entertaining day for us!
