Students of Marymount International School in London have been overjoyed with the publication of their International Baccalaureate (IB) results on Wednesday, 6 July 2022. After examinations have been cancelled due to the pandemic for the last two years, the students have stepped up and braved a seemingly whole new world of exam preparation and assessment.

Boasting a class average of 37 points, well above the global average of 32 points. Over a third of the graduating class were awarded a Bilingual Diploma, truly reflecting the internationality of the school.

The Class of 2022, a 52 strong cohort, have displayed agility and resilience throughout their senior school education. In the challenges of the pandemic, their persistence has paid off with over 150 offers to tertiary education institutions including Durham University, University College London and even Parsons School of Design in New York. Two students have been awarded tuition scholarships as well.

Headmistress, Mrs Margaret Giblin, sang her praises of the cohort, “Following what has been an unprecedented time for all students on their respective diploma journeys, I am incredibly proud of our Grade 12 students who rose to the challenge with tenacity, resilience and Marymount spirit. They embody the holistic characteristics of the IB Learner Profile. It is great to see their hard work and that of our wonderful teachers reap just rewards.”

Mr Nick Marcou, Senior Deputy Head and IB Coordinator was also happy with the results, “Whilst a Marymount education is not all about IB results, once again I am thrilled to see our students achieving so well in such a demanding curriculum.”

Paving a pathway for their successors, there is much anticipation of just how much the latest graduating class achieve in the future. We are confident they will use their many gifts and talents to contribute positively to the world.
