The first term of this academic year has been an enriching and vibrant experience for our boarding community. From fostering lasting friendships to promoting independence, our boarders have enjoyed a dynamic term filled with both on-campus and off-campus activities, all designed to support personal growth and create memorable experiences. Below is a snapshot of some of the highlights from the term, showcasing the diverse range of activities our students have participated in.
At the heart of our boarding programme is the commitment to fostering relationships and promoting independence. Boarding enables students to form connections with peers from diverse backgrounds and experiences, creating a rich multicultural environment. The boarding house is not only a place of residence but also a supportive community where students learn vital life skills such as communication, time management, and resilience.
In addition to social development, boarding encourages independence. Students are entrusted with managing their time, making decisions, and taking responsibility for their daily routines, all while receiving support and guidance from staff. This approach prepares them for future academic and personal challenges.
Our boarding wellbeing programme complements the formal curriculum, providing students with essential life skills that extend beyond the classroom:
Our boarders have also embraced opportunities to give back to the community and take on leadership roles through various boarding committees:
The knitting group’s efforts have also been noteworthy. Students have created handmade items such as hats and blankets for the Born Too Soon neonatal unit at a local hospital, demonstrating the spirit of generosity and care that defines our boarding community.
As the Christmas season approached, our boarders enjoyed a range of festive activities, embracing the holiday spirit:
As we reflect on the first term, we are incredibly proud of how our boarders have embraced every opportunity, from developing new skills to building lasting friendships. We eagerly anticipate a second term filled with more exciting activities, continued personal growth, and further opportunities for community involvement. It is clear that this year’s boarding community is thriving, and we look forward to all that the new term will bring.
