Alumnae Reunion – May 2025

Friday evening, 9 May 2025, was one of those nights that truly reminds you why community matters. In the heart of Central London, more than 50 alumnae gathered with current and former Marymount staff at the Green Room in Waterloo for our annual London Alumnae Reunion. The evening brought together decades of shared experiences and enduring friendships, demonstrating what we already know – the Marymount spirit knows no bounds.

We kicked things off with drinks and aperitifs on the patio — a perfect setting to catch up and celebrate how far everyone has come since their Marymount days.

When an alumna from the Class of 1967 walked in, it was a beautiful moment. It just goes to show, no matter how many years pass — 58, in her case — Marymount stays with you. That connection doesn’t fade.

As a small thank you for making the journey, each alumna was given a tin of Marymount-branded pearl caviar chocolates, delicately wrapped with a Marymount ribbon and finished with a sprig of lavender. It was a simple gesture, yet one that felt deeply personal… it really felt like a piece of Marymount to take home.

The whole evening buzzed with laughter, hugs, and meaningful exchanges. The patio was alive with stories being swapped, catch-ups in full flow, and plenty of Aperol spritz, food, and drink to share. There were reunions after decades apart, and the kind of easy, genuine conversations you don’t get to have every day. People were eager to hear about careers, families, and everything in between. You could feel the pride, gratitude, and connection in the room — it was a true celebration of this incredible community.

Marymount International School London offers two alumnae reunions every year — one on campus and one in London. These gatherings are a reminder that Marymount isn’t just a school where you finish your diploma and move on. As a leading international girls’ school in London, Marymount continues to foster connections that span generations and continents. The saying, “Once a Marymount girl, always a Marymount girl,” really does ring true. It’s not just about reconnecting; it’s about building new connections too. This spirit of support is exactly what the Marymount Alumnae Network was created to foster. With so many alumnae doing amazing things all over the world, these events offer a chance to network, swap advice, and support one another. Whether you’re looking for guidance, offering mentorship, or simply reconnecting with old friends, it’s clear the Marymount community stays with you long after graduation.

One alumna, Laurelin from the Class of 1995, said it best: “Marymount gave me lifelong friends — women who always believe in me and are always there for me.”

That spirit inspired the Marymount Alumnae Network — a dedicated platform that strengthens the lifelong bonds within our global community. Designed to keep connections strong and meaningful, the Network empowers Alumnae to offer mentorship, career advice, and university guidance to our current students and fellow alumnae. Alumnae are invited to volunteer as mentors, sharing their lived experiences across universities, companies, industries, and career paths. Current students benefit from personalised mentorship as they make important decisions about higher education and future careers. At the same time, the Network encourages peer-to-peer support among alumnae, creating a vibrant, multi-way exchange of knowledge and experience.

Since the reunion, we’ve been flooded with lovely messages — thank yous, stories of long-overdue catch-ups, and that ever-popular question: “When’s the next one?” It’s clear the night left a mark on everyone there — and it did on us too.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the evening so special. To the staff who joined us — you are the faces alumnae remember fondly, and having you there made all the difference. And to our alumnae — thank you for your warmth, your stories, and your laughter. You’re the heart of Marymount, and it’s what makes this community so unique.
