Giving and Legacies

At Marymount London we are blessed to have an alumnae network that is over 3,500 strong, with alumnae living throughout the world.

Whether you attended as a boarding or a day student, for one year or for six—one important thing has remained constant: You are now, and always will be, a Marymount girl. And we want you to stay connected to the school and to one another, to ensure the tremendous experience you enjoyed here is preserved, honored, and kept very much alive for generations to come
You are always welcome to visit and to share your story with current Marymount students.

“To be honest, it was really fun.  It gave me life.  I am going to miss the Marymount ‘bubble’”.

Central to the RSHM and to the School is philanthropy. Father Jean Gailhac, founder of the RSHM, was supported by Appollonie Cure, widow of Eugène Cure, who had been Father Gailhac’s good friend. Soon to become Mother St. Jean, she expressed to him her desire to give her life and her wealth to his works and so the Institute of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary was established in 1849.

Since then, the RSHM schools network has grown thanks to the perseverance of the Sisters as well as the generosity of the schools’ communities. In London this is particularly true: during the 1960s, Marymount families supported the building of new boarding accommodation and Our Lady’s Hall; in the 1980s, the Ann Marie Hill Sports Hall was built thanks to donations from parents and Alumnae. More recently, the Chapel and Main House have been completely refurbished with the help of Marymount families. Marymount London has a rich history of families supporting the school in order for future generations to share fully in a wholistic education that empowers girls.

The Governors of Marymount International School London are committed to continual investment in facilities, programs and resources to enrich and enhance the unique experience each student enjoys at Marymount. An unrestricted legacy to the School will give the Governors the flexibility to respond to future challenges by applying your gift to the area of greatest need.

Leaving a gift in your will to Marymount is straightforward and tax efficient. As a registered charity, no. 1117786, a legacy to the School is free of inheritance tax and thus your gift can reduce the amount of tax liability for your estate.

There are a number of different types of legacies which can make a real difference to the future of the School. We encourage you to discuss with a solicitor which type would best suit your circumstances. Please contact Adriana Williams, Director of Development and Alumnae Relations, if you are interested in leaving a legacy gift to Marymount (
