We are here to make the journey clear, welcoming and personal, helping your daughter begin her Marymount experience with confidence.

Take the next step towards a Marymount education.

Applications are welcome throughout the year

Marymount operates rolling admissions. This means families may apply at any point during the school year, subject to space being available in the appropriate grade and programme.

Before submitting an application, we recommend contacting the Admissions team. We can confirm availability, discuss your daughter’s current studies and answer any questions you may have about academic life, boarding and settling into a new country.

Apply and meet us remotely

You do not need to travel to the UK to complete the admissions process.

International applicants can undertake their entrance assessments remotely. These normally include English and Mathematics, with additional consideration given to school reports, references and the information provided in the application.

The interview can also take place online. It is a genuine conversation: an opportunity for us to learn how your daughter thinks, what interests her and what she hopes to gain from Marymount.

Study Options

Students joining Marymount on a full-time basis enter the International Baccalaureate programme appropriate to their age and previous education. Full-time students take part in the wider life of the School, including sport, creative activities, clubs, trips and community events. International students may join as day students or boarders, depending on their circumstances and the availability of places.

Flexible study options

Marymount also offers shorter experiences for students who want to study in an English-speaking environment, experience an IB education or spend time abroad without leaving their home school permanently.

Short-term Immersion Programme: 3-4 weeks

A focused introduction to life at Marymount. Students join lessons and activities, practice English in a natural setting and experience the routines of an international school community, alongside an exciting programme of cultural visits and activities.

Semester Abroad Programme

A longer period of study that allows students to become part of daily school life while remaining enrolled in their home-country education. We will consider the student’s existing curriculum and intended return pathway when reviewing whether a semester placement is suitable.

One-Year Stay

A full academic year offers time to make meaningful academic progress, build confidence in English and take a more active role in school life. It can also help a family decide whether longer-term international education is right for their daughter.

Places on short-term and visiting programmes depend on age, timing, curriculum fit and availability. Admissions will discuss these points with each family before an application is made.

Visas and permission to study in the UK

The immigration route for non-UK nationals wishing to study in the UK depends on the student’s nationality, the length of the course and her existing UK immigration status.

Study for Six Months or Less

A student coming to the UK for no more than six months may be able to study under the Standard Visitor route. Depending on her nationality, she may need a Standard Visitor visa before travelling or an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).

The family must show evidence of:

  • Acceptance onto the course
  • Suitable accommodation and care arrangements
  • Funds for the visit and return journey
  • Parental consent
  • Travel arrangements, particularly if the student is travelling without a parent

Students must not use consecutive visits to make the UK their main home or to undertake a course that is effectively longer than six months.

Study for more than Six Months

A student coming to the UK for no more than six months may be able to study under the Standard Visitor route. Depending on her Most international students who will study at an independent school for longer than six months require a Child Student visa, unless they already hold another immigration status that permits study, such as a Dependant’s visa.

A Child Student visa application normally requires:

  • An unconditional offer from an eligible independent school
  • A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, known as CAS
  • Evidence of suitable living arrangements
  • Evidence that course fees and living costs can be met
  • Consent from a parent of a legal guardian
  • Any additional documents required for the student’s country or circumstances

A CAS can only be issued after the School’s admissions requirements and relevant sponsorship checks have been completed. Families should allow sufficient time for both the admissions and visa processes.

As a UKVI Sponsor, Marymount International School is subject to stringent Home Office regulations relating to the sponsorship of non-British passport holders and ongoing immigration compliance for the duration of their time at the School.  These regulations are complex and subject to regular variation.

To ensure that all international applications to the School meet these regulations, and to give you peace of mind that your daughter’s visa will be granted, we, like many other schools, have engaged the services of immigration specialists, Sable International, to manage our CAS and ongoing visa compliance process.  Sable has been providing immigration services for more than 30 years and is regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner.

It is a requirement of entry to Marymount that all Child Student visa applications are administered by Sable International on behalf of the School.
