A time of independence, ambition and possibility

Sixth Form at Marymount is centred on the International Baccalaureate. As an IB-only school, students in Years 12 and 13 (Grades 11 and 12) follow either the full IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) or a programme of IB Diploma Courses, allowing for an academically ambitious pathway shaped around individual strengths, interests and future plans.

These final two years of school bring greater independence, deeper academic engagement and growing confidence. Students are encouraged to take increasing ownership of their learning, explore their interests in greater depth and begin shaping the direction they wish to take beyond Marymount.

Within a close-knit international community, academic challenge is balanced with individual support, leadership opportunities and personal growth, preparing students to move confidently into university and life beyond school.

The Sixth Form experience

Growing independence
Sixth Form students take increasing responsibility for their learning, choices and goals, developing the habits and confidence needed for life beyond school.

Finding direction
Greater academic choice and depth allow students to explore their interests and begin making informed decisions about university, future study and careers.

Developing a voice
Students are encouraged to contribute ideas, lead, collaborate and participate fully in the life of the School.

A global community
Learning alongside students from different cultures and backgrounds encourages open-mindedness, intercultural understanding and a genuinely international outlook. This reflects Marymount’s existing positioning of the Sixth Form experience as one shaped by diverse perspectives and global awareness.
