Marymount International School London - About Us
Marymount International School - London

Boarding

Marymount offers both five and seven day boarding places for students in all grades.  Girls are housed in four main Halls.

Caring for boarding students is the task of an experienced team of Houseparents and the School Nurse who create a warm, friendly and responsible atmosphere.  They are especially sensitive to the needs of girls who may be away from home for the first time.

All guidelines for living as a Boarder have been designed with the RSHM Mission "That all may have life" in mind. This encourages all students to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle which will promote learning and enable all students and staff to live in harmony with one and other.

“Marymount has a warm and friendly environment, coupled with an energetic and caring atmosphere. I cannot begin to thank the teachers at Marymount for giving me such a fantastic start in life. My seven years boarding will always have a very special place in my heart”.

Boarding life fosters a spirit of self-reliance and helps to develop natural social skills. Getting on with others, learning to respect different viewpoints, sharing a friend’s joys and sorrows as part and parcel of one’s own maturing process – these are intrinsic to the Marymount experience.

For boarders ‘their Hall is their home’. The relaxed atmosphere of the boarding houses provide a perfect antidote to the rigour of academic work, the physical exertions of sport or the time restrictions of a busy life.  New students are always warmly welcomed and helped by those around them.  Indeed each academic year begins with an orientation programme designed specfically to assist boarders to familiarise themselves with the environment and begin to make friends.

Marymount has residential facilities for around 95 boarders. Attractively furnished and fully carpeted, we provide single and double rooms for the oldest students and double or triple rooms for the younger students. Student lounges provide comfortable places for socializing and relaxation activities.

In addition to making active use of all school facilities, evening activities and weekend events are planned on a regular basis by the Houseparents and the Boarders' Council.
